It's been nice and cool so far this August! Our sizzling summer sale ends this week. Computer Classes 5D Embroidery Classes---These classes teach everything you want to know about your 5D software! Highland: 5D Education---Free 5D class for 5D owners who purchased the software through us. Other 5D owners are welcome for a low class fee. September 7  8 AM --10 AM Merrillville: Encore!! Learn how to create new designs with just the tools in your 5D August 16 10 AM-12 PM Open 5D Software Day! Bring your computer and work at your own pace as certified 5D instructors answer your questions and offer assistance. September 11 10 AM --4:30 PM   Quilt Classes! Christmas Tree Skirt-Using the same piecing techniques we used in our Tall Tree Christmas Quilt, we'll be quilting a wonderful holiday tree skirt. This project comes in two classes, so you'll be sure to have plenty of time to finish. Call today to join in the fun! Highland---August 28 8:30 AM--2 PM Applique Quilt-Blocks can be finished in one class and they're so fun and easy! This quilt is on going make one square for a pillow cover or the entire quilt! Highland--- September 4th & September 6th 8:30 AM -- 2 PM Sewing Classes! Beginning Sewing-Want to learn how to make a PJ pant from a pattern? Gwen will teach you all you need to know to get started sewing! Highland and Merrillville---Call for schedules Traveling Notions Kit -Carry all your tools with you to class in a really cute notions kit you stitch yourself. Our Merrillville remodel is complete and we're scheduling new classes!  Our Merrillville classroom is ready for students. New manager, Wendy, has just received a new shipment of fall and holiday designs and notions. Come in and say hello and take a look at our new store. Register for a class and join the fun to come! Shakes and Shivers Family Album Quilt Come build a snow people family quilt. This is a really fun quilt that can brighten your home all winter long.  Highland July 19  8:30-2:00 Tall Christmas Tree This Christmas tree is over 6 feet tall! (smaller version is available) Learn paper piecing with this project. Everyone can use a holiday scrubbie!   Highland July 27 8:30-2, July 31  8:30-2:30 Merrillville July 26, 30 9:30-4:30   Holiday Recipe Towels Bring your embroidery machine and embroider some holiday towels. These make great gifts and there are a number of holiday recipes in this design pack---candycane cookies, gingerbreads, and eggnog to name a few. Call to reserve a spot so we'll be sure to have the designs available for you. We also have towels that are great for embroidery available for purchase. Merrillville July 11, 16 9:30-4:30 Stop in and meet our new Merrillville Manager! Wendy Frevert joins the  Merrillville Sewing Center with a love of the Viking line of  Sewing Machines!! Wendy's comes from a multi generational sewing family (her mother is a retired Husqvarna Viking Dealer).  She began sewing at an early age, continued on to competing in 4-H sewing for many years, and even had a large Panda Bear stuffed animal compete at the Iowa State Fair.  For the last 12 years she has worked in Husqvarna Viking dealerships.  She is an expert in all levels of the current model machines and many of the older versions too.  Her true passion is the Embroidery and all the fun things that can be done within the 5D software.  She looks forward to bringing her experience, creativity and support to the newly redone store.  In her spare time away from store, she enjoys living out in the country with a kennel of showdogs.
