Join us on the last Thursday of the month for our Quilting for the Troops event in the Merrillville Sewing Center. All you need to bring is your sewing machine and sewing kit---we'll supply the fabric and the know how. Learn new skills, enjoy an afternoon out, and get together with a really nice bunch of ladies to sew for the greatest cause. Call the store with any questions.
And just look at this lovely patriotic quilted wall hanging that would look lovely Memorial Day, for the 4th, or all year round! We're planning a class in coming weeks. Call the sewing center for details or watch our Web Calendar.
And just in time for barbeque season we're stitching aprons and barbeque towels. Get an early start on Father's Day gifts by stitching these great projects! The class is still in the planning stages but you can stop in and register at the Merrillville Sewing Center and get the list of supplies you'll need and buy the really cute design!
Beginning Sewing Instructor Gwen has been busy offering Serger classes this month in both the Merrillville and Highland Sewing classrooms during our Serger Spectacular. Serger's everywhere have been traveling to the sewing centers and we're discovering just how easy they are to use. We're sewing home decor and fashions with some super results. And all the questions we have had are being answered (even for those of us who previously purchased Sergers from stores that didn't offer free introductory classes with the machine!)
In Highland we're starting on the wonderful Sincerely Yours Quilt. This is a simply gorgeous quilt that teaches applique, embroidery, and piecing.
And don't wait any longer to register for the up coming Toolin' Around Event on Saturday, May 4th---just 2 weeks away. This is an all day event and lunch is included in the price. Come see all sorts of tips about how to pick the right stabilizer, the right tool to use for your projects, and so much more. This event is being held at the Highland Sewing Center and features Husqvarna Viking educator, Chris Dolnar.
Call today before all the spaces are gone!
